Thomas Kiernan, executive chef for Morrison Healthcare at Upstate Medical University, has received the 2013 Chef Professionalism award from the Syracuse chapter of the American Culinary Federation. He will receive the award Monday, June 24 at an awards dinner at Mohegan Manor in Baldwinsville.
Other winners include Jason Drysdale, who received Chef of the Year honors. He is the director of culinary operations at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino. Stephen Landon, who runs Free Range Catering and is executive chef at Vernak Farms in Borodino, received the Aspiring Chef award.
Kiernan and his Upstate kitchen were recently featured in Upstate Health magazine, starting on page 18.
