The lead contributor is 25-year veteran journalist Amber Smith, who covered this institution during her tenure at Syracuse’s daily newspaper, The Post-Standard. Early in her career, she worked as a volunteer paramedic. Later, she earned a master’s degree in Health Services Management and Policy. About Susan Cole
Susan Cole is the social media director at Upstate Medical University. She is a Central New York native, raised on a farm 30 minutes north of Syracuse. Her career began in the trenches of public relations and marketing communications agencies in New York City and Rochester, NY. She has worked on integrated communications programs in a range of industries– from the fine arts to agribusiness. Currently, she focuses on social communications and how people use digital platforms to share information. To stay healthy, Susan enjoys pilates, playing with her kids and Weight Watchers recipes (she’s a Lifetime Member!) She resides in her hometown of Fulton, NY with her husband and children.
About Darcy DiBiase
Darcy is the Assistant Director of Marketing at Upstate, working primarily to promote the services within the Upstate Health System. With more than 10 years ad agency experience, she is a champion of small local businesses and large health care enterprises alike.
Darcy and her husband are proud to be born and raised in Central New York. As a mom of two, she’s also a bit of an action-aholic: cheering from the sidelines for her kid’s activities, teaching group fitness at a local gym or competing in triathlons.
