Medical students and EMS residents from Upstate Medical University created a study about CPR that will be conducted at the New York State Fair today, Sunday Sept. 4. Stop by the Upstate booth in the Science and Industry Building (No. 19 on this map.)
Fairgoers will be asked to perform 2 minutes of CPR, while a video camera rolls. Participants will be placed in one of three groups: those who are currently certified in CPR, those who were once certified but whose certification expired, and those who have never been certified. Researchers hope to find 50 to 60 people for each of the groups.
The study will examine the performance of CPR, with researchers analyzing the rate and depth of compressions.
