Derek Cooney MD has a new radio show called “What’s Your Emergency?”

Upstate’s weekly talk radio show, HealthLink on Air debuted a new segment called “What’s Your Emergency?” Sunday morning. If you missed it, you can listen here on the HealthLink on Air website at www.upstate.edu/healthlinkonair

The periodic segments will feature Derek Cooney MD an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Upstate University Hospital, and various guests who will address different subjects. In the first segment, Cooney gives an overview of when and how to seek emergency care and what to expect once you’re in the emergency department. In a later segment, he will chat with neurosurgeon Eric Deshaies MD about what happens when someone has a stroke.

HealthLink on Air provides a weekly dose of health and medical news of interest to Central New Yorkers. Tune into WSYR radio from 9 to 10 a.m. Sundays, on FM 106.9 or AM 570. Host Linda Cohen interviews leading doctors and researchers from this region, on a variety of topics, and psychologist/researcher Rich O’Neill PhD provides a “Check Up from the Neck Up,” answering questions submitted by listeners.
