A vivid purple and orange duck commemorating the 50th anniversaries of Upstate University Hospital’s downtown and community hospitals participated in this weekend’s Duck Race to End Racism at Syracuse’s Inner Harbor. The duck placed seventh in the race, organized annually by Interfaith Works of Central New York.

Upstate President Gregory Eastwood, MD, examines the duck, painted by Susan Keeter of Marketing and University Communications. Maxine Thompson, left, and Patrice Chang, right, are from the office of diversity and inclusion.
